22th International Festival “Jazz Triumph” will be held in 6 cities of Russia!

At the beginning of the new millennium, the world-famous saxophonist Igor Butman also became famous as an outstanding jazz producer. In 2001, he created one of the largest and most successful world-class Russian festivals – the Triumph of Jazz, which has become a real cultural phenomenon in Russian music. In 2022, the event is held for the 22nd time, but for the first time in 6 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Tver, Yaroslavl and Krasnoyarsk and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Russian jazz.

On March 11, 12 and 13, Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble, Larisa Dolina, Fantine, Daniil Kramer, Juliana Rogacheva and the Alexey Chernakov Quartet, the Jazz Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan will perform in the Svetlanov Hall of the International House of Music.On March 14, the Festival concert will take place at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, on March 15 at the Tver Academic Drama Theater in Tver, on March 16 at the Tula Regional Philharmonic in Tula, on March 17 at the Millennium Concert Hall in Yaroslavl, on March 19 the Festival will end in Krasnoyarsk on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic!”In 2022, our Festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Russian jazz, and therefore we have taken care not only to invite wonderful artists, but also to expand our program. Concerts of the Festival will be held for the first time in 6 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Tver, Yaroslavl and Krasnoyarsk. Also, as part of the “Triumph of Jazz”, a series of performances by Festival participants will take place at the Igor Butman Jazz Club, creative meetings, a large educational program in museums and cultural centers in Moscow and the VIII International Festival-Competition “Children’s Triumph of Jazz”, – said the founder and artistic director of the Festival Igor Butman. 

About the Festival: Over the more than 20-year history of the Triumph of Jazz, the Russian public was able to see and hear musicians whose arrival in our country was difficult to imagine – At the invitation of Igor Butman, legends of the world jazz scene visited Russia, uniting generations and cultures: Elvin Jones, Gary Burton, Joe Lovano, McCoy Tyner, Mike Stern, Billy Cobham, Larry Coryell, Lee Ritenaur, Joshua Redman, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ahmad Jamal, Randy Brekker, Toots Thielemans, Gino Vanelli, Lee Konitz, Take6, Lenny White, Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Roy Hargrove, Bob James and many other superstars who rightfully represent jazz on a planetary scale. In 2022, the Festival’s concerts will be held in 6 Russian cities for the first time: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Tver, Yaroslavl and Krasnoyarsk.
